The people have been fighting the lost cause of their lives. People fight when it has no purpose because
- they simply do not know any better
- it keeps them occupied, otherwise they have to face themselves
- fantasy. is that different from #2?
- quest to betray
- quest to gain
- quest for fullfillment
one of the most intriguing ones, because it can never be fulfilled yet will always be sought after. - quest for identity.
