Mark & Clark Band - "Worn Down Piano"

Took me two days to refind this song; strange, because when listening to it, I remember so many lyrics (and other details) I should have been able to find it much faster...

16 Horsepower - "Golden Rope" (Low Estate)

Sad, haunting...

Boards of Canada - "Amo Bishop Roden" (In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country)

Instrumental. Echoing strings and a dry, intense beat.

Laura Marling - (various)

folk-y.

Not everything good. Sometimes she hit the minor chords like Alanis Morissette; good ("Don't Ask Me Why")
  • Captain and the Hourglass : uptempo, nice
  • Old Stone - melancholy
  • Night Terror - haunting
  • My Manic and I - simple, fast
  • Night after Night - some Leonard Cohen ish influences, both in song and music

Stranger Than Paradise (1984)

Typically Jim Jarmusch; from the steady-cam-on-character-with-song start, to the disjointed fragments of how people live their lives, not shunning the difficult silences. The audio that keeps running just 1 sec after the fragment has turned black... the acting, which wasn't too good, yet at the same time felt pure because those are people who do not act, who are simply who they are...

Pretty amazing, though not a film you watch out of sheer fun.
