Read somewhere that Tarantino wanted to give "black people" their own western hero. This film won't do that. Not because Django is not a hero, but it'll be Tarantino who would be the hero for making this film. I cannot imagine this being so impressive that it'll successfully imprint the idea of a black gunman in cultural memory.
