animated film. Fun enough, but it suffers from the common problem: the animator seemed, particularly in the beginning, too eager to show off what he could do.
The film would have benefit by cutting a few pieces and shortening some scenes.
Made me think of Mr Pye a bit, though in this animated feature the protagonist does not 'earn' the wings because of his good behaviour. Au contraire, they are a burden to him because they force him to do good.
Interesting that the protagonist is killed off around 2/3rd of the film
