cd 1: Brawlers
- "road to piece" - rough, painful, war, death. angry at Bush.
- "rains on me" - gospel-ish, but in a really really Tom Waits way. Funny
softer, more melodious, sad. waltzing in the rain on a glimmering street
- "long way home" - soft, rhythmic, I love you baby but I always take the long way home
- "little drop of poison" - will always love this song. but what changes in his voice after the 1st verse? seems almost like it's in antiphase
- "Tell it to me" - Cohen-ish. so much that for a moment I thought I recognized it
- "Little Man" - jazzy, slow
it's half spoken-word!
- "What Keeps Mankind Alive" - it is indeed the same song as the one on the Pet Shop Boys' Rarities album! Who was first?! wonderful!!
- "Two Sisters" - Irish
